Drive Belts
The drive belts on your vehicle operate your vehicles accessories including: the alternator, power steering pump, water pump, air pump, and air conditioning compressor. Over time the rubber drive belts start to deteriorate and can become glazed, cracked, frayed or the grooves become too shallow to ride on the pulleys correctly. Drive belts can also become contaminated by leaking fluids under your hood or damaged by a worn accessory pulley. Any of these conditions can cause the belt to chirp or squeal. Often times, this squeal is most prominent first thing in the morning when the vehicle is started or during turning or A/C operation. This is because these conditions put the most stress on the belts. At Repair Revolution, we check your vehicles drive belt condition complimentary when you bring your car in for any service. If we find issues with any of these components we will provide you with pictures and notes in your digital inspection report.
